Uber is launching a mini-pilot program called "Uber Tasks" that allows users to hire people for household tasks

The program will initially be tested in Fort Myers, Florida, and Edmonton, Alberta.

Possible tasks include furniture assembly, in-home laundry, lawn mowing, snow removal, packing or unpacking, holiday decorating, yard cleanup, and garden maintenance.

Drivers and couriers can opt in to help customers with these tasks and will see estimated earnings before reserving a task.

Uber’s revenue growth in the third quarter was the slowest in 10 quarters, prompting the company to seek additional ways to create revenue.
