Threads' BIG New Feature: You Can Now Set Your Default Feed

If you’ve been using Threads for a while, you’ve probably felt the frustration of being shown random posts, even if you only want to see content from the accounts you follow.

Well, Threads is finally testing the option to set your default feed! :tada:

Mark Zuckerberg shared the news, revealing that users can now choose between three options:

  1. For You (Meta’s algorithm-driven feed).

  2. Following (just posts from the accounts you follow).

  3. Custom feeds (based on categories or tags you select).

This option has been one of the most requested features since the app launched, and it looks like Meta is finally delivering. :checkered_flag:

:point_right: How to set your default feed:

  1. Open the app.

  2. Tap and hold on any feed at the top.

  3. Select “Edit Feeds”.

  4. Reorder them—your first choice will be your default feed when you open the app.

This might seem like a small update, but it’s a major step forward for user control and customization. :fire:

What’s even more interesting? Competition from Bluesky seems to be driving many of these recent improvements. We’ve already seen updates like a reworked For You algorithm (now prioritizing the accounts you actually follow) and a more user-friendly search feature.
