Apple & SpaceX brought Starlink satellite support to iPhones

Apple, T-Mobile, and SpaceX have been working behind the scenes to bring Starlink satellite service to iPhones.
A new report from Bloomberg confirms that this feature began rolling out quietly with iOS 18.3 on Monday.

:satellite: Unlike Apple’s current Globalstar-powered emergency messaging, Starlink’s system works automatically—no need to point your phone at the sky. Even in a pocket or bag, you stay connected.

For now, it’s text-only, and only a handful of T-Mobile customers have access. But SpaceX and T-Mobile have already confirmed plans to expand to data and voice services.

:small_blue_diamond: Apple has been relying solely on Globalstar for satellite features since 2022.
:small_blue_diamond: But now, integrating with Starlink suggests a major shift—Apple is open to working with multiple satellite providers.
:small_blue_diamond: Elon Musk even hinted that discussions with Apple were “very promising.”

Satellite connectivity is no longer just about emergencies. It’s about seamless, everyday connectivity—anywhere.
And with Starlink coming to iPhones, that future just got a lot closer.
